Welcome to the 2009 Holiday Tour of Historic Homes. History is so fascinating. What makes it more exciting is to see the homes that have been at the front of all the events that have transpired throughout the 19th and 20th centuries. This year's homes span a period from pre-Civil War, Great Depression, World War I to pre-World War II.
 
If you have had the pleasure to attend one of our home tours in the past, you will be excited again this year. If you are "new" to our tour, what are you waiting for? Come discover why many of us have chosen to live in Statesville...the 5 distinct historic districts that grace our city, some of the best districts in the nation.
 
If history doesn't bring you, the Christmas decorations will. Our homeowners have a flair for Christmas and you will leave with many ideas to usher in the magic of Christmas in your own home.
 
This tour is self-guided and the homeowners as well as volunteers will be on site to answer questions, share restoration nightmares if you ask, possible ghosts encounters, and interesting collections.
