Dent Turner was a prosecutor for Statesville. His father was a member of the NC Senate then became Lieutenant Governor 1901-1905. The Turner's then sold their home 1 1/2 year's later, during the depression, to Dr. WC Current, a dentist, for $9700. Mrs. Turner (Evelyn Hall) was a 1926 graduate of Duke University.
Dent Turner made local news in 1926 for a speeding ticket in Guilford County. A motorcycle policeman pulled him for driving 60 mph. The motorcycle had to reach a speed of 72 mph to overtake him.
The architecture is a side-gable bungalow.
